Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of new survey team members.
Lead execution of core survey tasks: control setup, topo surveys, layout, as-builts, and other required data capture.
Offer insights that help supervisors plan staffing and resource allocation for upcoming scopes of work.
Assist surveyors with field challenges, interpreting requirements to ensure accurate layout and data collection.
Ensure survey activities align with project requirements, permanent and temporary design integration, and construction methods.
Communicate survey workload needs to field supervisors and project teams, ensuring appropriate resourcing and support.
Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, workflow improvements, and technology enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Lead day-to-day survey activities, coordinating tasks and ensuring resources are deployed effectively across the project.
Work with equipment and fleet teams to support GPS machine control systems and UAV operations.
Provide informal performance feedback, technical coaching, and daily direction to crew members.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to refine survey methods and enhance data quality.
Monitor and maintain all project survey tools including total stations, GPS/RTK units, UAVs, and machine control components. Coach the team on equipment handling and troubleshooting.
Coordinate daily use, setup, and basic calibration of survey equipment.
Promote a strong field-based safety culture and reinforce safe work practices.

Advanced Operations Drone Pilot Certificate (Transport Canada).
Extensive experience with RTK, GPS, and Total Station systems. Strong proficiency in RTK/PPK data processing workflows.
6+ years of survey experience with at least 1 - 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D for modelling, drafting, and data visualization.
Proficiency in UAV photogrammetry and LiDAR mission planning and execution.
Experience with machine control systems (Topcon experience considered an asset).
Technological diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field; a bachelor’s degree in engineering is an asset.
Project experience working on rail transit in live corridors, highways, bridges, roads, grading and other infrastructure projects.
Experience working on infrastructure projects for a General Contractor or Subcontractor in Canada.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and safety.
