The Role

Overview

Estimate and takeoff commercial plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal and fire‑protection projects.

Tasks

-Finalize project estimates from the direction of the VP of Estimating. -Collaborates with vendors and subcontractors to secure scopes and pricing including but not limited to calling and/or meeting with them to discuss their scope of work. -Input missing information in the bid documents. Completing the design with intent. -Provide projects material takeoffs and pricing. -Provides detailed and complete information to operations leaders for smooth project turnovers, including all quantitative take-offs, quotations, and email correspondence. -Provides the VP of Estimating quantitative material take-offs and inputs information into spreadsheets. -Provide conceptual drawings of material take-offs showing design intent. -Ensures smooth and timely estimates. -Attend project site surveys and walks.

What You Bring

-Understanding confidentiality. -Good math ability. -Trimble Viewpoint and/or QuickPen, Autodesk Est-MEP, and QuoteSoft experience preferred. -Ability to clearly write scope letters. -Bluebeam experience preferred. -Ability to learn new systems and technologies. -Eyesight correctable to 20/50 -Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience. -Journeyman Fire Protection license or equivalent experience. -Must stay current with all estimating software and attend training courses as needed and/or required. -Bachelor’s degree in business or finance and/or equivalent associate degree in project management. -Capable of job site tours, climbing ladders and on/off equipment, etc. -Valid driver’s license. -Good computer skills (knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook). -OSHA 30 hours. -8-12 years prior estimating experience. -Reading and understanding project specifications and drawings. -Ability to conduct scope reviews with clients/customers. -Required to work onsite within office location. -Strong organizational skills. -Ability to read and interpret technical documents. -High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required. -Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent experience. -May require travel between office locations as needed. -Ability to communicate on a professional level in front of peers, co-workers, and customers. -Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation, sheet metal, HVAC, or fire protection (as assigned). -12 years’ experience in commercial plumbing, heating, and or fire protection estimating, or completion of approved apprenticeship program and 5 years’ experience as a Journeyman.
