Overview

Lead telecom system design, integration, and QA for oil & gas FEED/detail projects.

Tasks

-Participate in site visit for data collection, validation and prepare site visit report. -Preparation of FEED and detail design deliverables such as design basis, specifications, datasheets, sizing calculations, block diagrams, location layouts, cable routing layouts, interconnection drawings, scope of works, RFQs & Material Requests. -Define telecommunication design basis, standards, and deliverables to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. -Conduct bid evaluation/vendor document review and approval. -Ensure compliance with international and regional standards like IEC, IEEE, ITU, and oil and gas specific telecom codes. -Ensure QA/QC practices, drawing standards, datasheets, calibration plans, and requisition packages. -Support field construction, commissioning, start-up activities, and as-built documentation. -Provide technical leadership for telecommunication systems within FEED and Detail Engineering projects in the Oil & Gas sector. -Conduct site surveys, equipment selection, and vendor management to facilitate seamless installation and commissioning of telecom networks. -Mentor engineers, drive quality and schedule adherence, and ensure robust telecommunication deliverables across the project phases. -Coordinate and participate in third party Vendor CCTV, PAGA and Radio cover study workshop. Review and approve the Vendor coverage study report. -Stay current with advances in telecommunication technology and recommend value-added solutions. -Monitor quality assurance and control of telecom installations, ensuring operational reliability and safety. -Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, instrumentation, mechanical) for smooth integration of telecom solutions. -Provide technical leadership by troubleshooting, risk assessment, and mentoring junior telecom engineers and project teams. -Overseeing design activities for Telecommunication systems including – Optical Fiber communication systems, LAN & structured cabling system, Telephone System, TETRA System, Microwave Radio, PAGA, ACS, CCTV, PIDS, Entertainment system to suit client requirements. -Oversee integration with process, electrical, and multi-discipline interfaces; ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated track record delivering telecommunication design and integration on FEED/detailed engineering projects. -Standards Familiarity: IEC, ITU, ISO, IEEE, NFPA, TIA, EN; operator standards (e.g., ADNOC/others as applicable). -Familiarity with FEED deliverables, MOC/Change control, and document controls. -Telecom/OT Systems: SDH/PDH, DWDM, microwave, fiber (OSP/ISP), VSAT; TETRA/DMR/LTE‑P/5G private; PAGA; CCTV (analytics, VMS), ACS/PIDS; IP telephony/UC; time synchronization. -ADNOC EPC/PMC experience is an added advantage. -Experience: 12+ years of experience, including at least 8 years of telecommunication design engineering work experience within the oil and gas sector, particularly onshore and offshore projects in the Middle East. -Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities. -Professional membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PE/Chartered Engineer) are a plus. -Strong background knowledge in the design of Telecommunication systems, and Security Systems. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication or Electronics & Communication Engineering -Ability to perform coverage studies for CCTV, PAGA and Radio based on client requirements.
