The Role

Overview

Design electric distribution projects, prepare construction drawings, calculations, and documentation.

Tasks

Prepare drawings of the projects designed accurately and in conformance with the applicable standards and regulations, and review all work for completeness before submitting for engineering review. Balance a full project workload with aggressive deadlines and fixed budgets. Confer with other staff members to resolve problems, achieve milestones, and create construction documents. Perform engineering calculations and complete other supplemental design documents. Perform field walks, document existing conditions, and/or recommend design solutions. Prepare deliverables in a professional and organized manner. Gain familiarity with construction standards in order to best meet client and NV5’s expectations. What You Bring

Minimal travel to client sites as needed (expected to be no more than 30% of time). Adhere to complex project work flows. -Proficient using MS Office Suite and other relevant software -1-2 years of experience in relevant utility design. -Proficient knowledge of design programs, work management software, and experience preparing bills of materials and construction drawings. -Minimal travel to client sites as needed (expected to be no more than 30% of time). -Demonstrate a basic knowledge of relevant industry standards for design and construction. -Experience with SDG&E Underground, Overhead, Service, and Design Manual Standards is preferred. -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related STEM disciplines. -Basic knowledge of AutoCAD. -Adhere to complex project work flows.

The pay range for this California position is $25.00- $35.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
