Overview

Field Service Technician maintaining & repairing heavy construction equipment.

Tasks

-Document work performeddaily through work orders (paper or electronic) -Conduct scheduled maintenanceto prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity. -Handle complex and major repairson hydraulic, electrical, fuel, transmission, exhaust, and brake systems. -Diagnose, inspect, and perform repairson diesel and gasoline engines, as well as other heavy machinery such as pavers, millers, rollers, and skid steers. -Perform field service callswith efficiency and urgency, completing repairs at job sites as needed. -Maintain clear communicationwith the Shop Foreman regarding equipment status, required repairs, and parts needed. -Adjusting, moving and lifting objects in all directions: Constantly -Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Occasionally

-Seeing to perform job duties at close range, such as monitors or screens: Rarely -Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds: Constantly -Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like: Rarely -Seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as driving or operating equipment: Constantly -Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more: Occasionally -Experience usingdiagnostic scan tools. -Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds: Constantly -Trade school certificationin a related field. -Skilled indiagnosing and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues. -Comfortable usingtechnologysuch as laptops and tablets for diagnostics and documentation. -The ability to travel regionally or nationally: Rarely -Holds avalid driver’s license. -Proficient in reading and comprehendingservice manuals, technical bulletins, schematics, and diagrams(hydraulic/electrical). -Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods: Constantly -Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers: Constantly -Self-motivatedand able to work independently without constant supervision. -Experienced in exhaust systems, fuel systems, drivelines, differentials, hubs, and all other components of equipment on pavers, millers, rollers, and skid steers. -5+ yearsof heavy-duty diesel or automotive mechanic experience. -Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching: Constantly -Talking and hearing to communicate with others: Constantly -Stable work historydemonstrating reliability and expertise.
