Staff Civil Engineer

Tasks

-Engage with regulatory agencies. -Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability. -Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications, and reports. -Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction). -Utilize advanced understanding of ordinances / regulations (local, state, & federal) as well as the relevant permitting process(es) to ensure compliance. -Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc. -Mentor junior-level staff. -Provide quality control of staff design & reports. -Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients. -Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects. -Nurture existing client relationships as well as developing new clients.

What You Bring

-P.E. license in NC is preferred. -Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects. -Proven ability to look at the “Big Picture” as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly. -Excellent communication skills (verbal & written). -Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus! -Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. -Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering). -4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land development projects. -Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc. -Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance. -Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues. -Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while utilizing H&H modeling tools.
