Overview

Manage environmental compliance, monitoring, and sustainability on construction site

Tasks

-Administer, implement, and maintain the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to ensure compliance with legislation and ACCIONA systems. -Lead continuous improvement in environmental performance and strategic outcomes. -Promote a positive environmental culture and deliver training to project teams and senior leaders. -Conduct incident investigations, liaise with regulators, and integrate lessons learned into systems. -Monitor and action mitigation measures from approval and obligation registers. -Identify and manage environmental approvals and provide guidance during planning and site operations. -Prepare accurate reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. -Drive sustainability initiatives and support ISC rating delivery (e.g., As-Built). -Develop and implement environmental monitoring regimes; analyse data and respond to exceedances. -Maintain Chain of Custody for environmental samples and ensure monitoring compliance. -Represent legislative requirements in control documents (e.g., work method statements, toolbox talks). -Engage with stakeholders, including regulators, designers, engineers, and communities. -Apply ACCIONA's risk management framework to assess and mitigate environmental risks. -Conduct audits, inspections, and provide site-based environmental support.

What You Bring

-Analytical skills to interpret environmental monitoring data to produce reports. -A collaborative and mentoring mindset, promoting environmental best practices. -Proven ability to implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). -Hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Science, Engineering, or a related field. -An understanding of the application of Queensland environmental legislation and compliance standards. -Experience in sustainability would be viewed favourably. -Strategic thinking towards implementing and developing environmental and sustainability best practice. -3 to 5 years' experience in environmental management-ideally within construction or infrastructure. -Practical experience in site inspections and reporting. -Practical experience in construction related environmental management and monitoring i.e., erosion and sediment control, water treatment and monitoring, noise and or vibration monitoring inspections.
