The Role

Overview

Lead commercial construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and profit.

Tasks

-Generate budget estimates, contracts, change orders, and RFIs, and process progress billings. -Support the superintendent in obtaining occupancy permits and ensure compliance with provincial legislation regarding liens and holdbacks. -Manage change management, procurement/buyouts, and reconcile payments. -Cultivate strong relationships with owners, trade contractors, and suppliers, interpreting and managing contractual obligations. -Oversee daily operations, develop and maintain construction schedules, and monitor progress. -Utilize Procore for project documentation and review plans for constructability challenges. -Prepare detailed job cost reports and accurate forecasting, overseeing subcontractors and suppliers. -Lead meetings with trade subcontractors and superintendents to discuss progress, resolve obstacles, and ensure accountability. -Manage projects to ensure completion on or ahead of schedule and maximize profitability. -Implement quality control policies, conduct post-project reviews, and manage project closeout.

What You Bring

-Proven experience managing projects in the $1-5M range, with an interest in smaller or multiple simultaneous projects. -Demonstrable knowledge of onsite safety procedures and ability to implement them. -Strong behavioral competencies in project management, problem-solving, accuracy, communication (written and verbal), diplomacy, and customer service. -Minimum 7 years of increasing scale Project Management experience in commercial construction, delivering consistent, profitable results. -Post-Secondary education in a relevant discipline. -Exceptional computer skills, particularly with scheduling, planning, and cost control software. -Experience in reading and interpreting complex contract requirements.
