Estimator/Project Manager, Self-Performed Concrete

Tasks

-Solicit vendor quotes and ensure scope completeness. -Promote a strong safety culture and uphold KCI’s standards of quality and integrity. -Perform quantity take-offs, validate productivity rates, and incorporate field feedback into pricing. -Review and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and constructability. -Maintain consistent communication and documentation to support project success. -Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews. -Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and work plans to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. -Support the transition from estimate to field execution, ensuring a clear and smooth hand-off to project teams. -Lead self-performed concrete projects from planning through close-out, serving as the main contact for clients, vendors, and field personnel. -Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and field teams to ensure alignment on scope, productivity, and quality. -Oversee procurement of materials and equipment; manage change orders and cost reporting. -Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for all self-performed concrete scopes — including labor, materials, equipment.

-Strong understanding of concrete means and methods, crew production rates, equipment utilization, and material costs. -You’re a hands-on construction professional who enjoys both the analytical side of estimating and the leadership side of managing projects. -Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and teamwork. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Win Est, or scheduling software a plus. -You thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and you take pride in delivering quality work that stands the test of time -5+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in self-performed concrete work. -Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. -You’re organized, proactive, and confident in your ability to balance multiple priorities — from the bid room to the job site. -Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
