Reinforcement Steel Scheduler

Overview

Create reinforcement bar schedules from drawings, manage resources, and liaise with production.

Tasks

-Preparation of estimates and bar schedules for reinforcing across several projects concurrently, detailing grade, diameter, number, and shape of bars for production. -Maintaining good client relationships for projects under their control, including prompt problem-solving. -Production of detailed and accurate marking plans showing the placement of reinforcing in projects. -Monitor and update schedules as needed, considering any changes or conflicts that may arise. -Liaising with production, transport staff, and contractors to meet lead times and deadlines. -Meet set tonnage targets per month. -Entering scheduling information into scheduling software with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. -Proactively identify and escalate any risks or threats to scheduling lead times and deadlines to the Scheduling Manager. -Identify opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies. -Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment regarding schedules -Review current standardised procedures for Continuous Improvement activities. -Production of CAD drawings as required for scheduling purposes.

What You Bring

-Experienced in problem-solving. -Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing schedules and priorities. -Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs. -Excellent ability to plan and organise. -Strong technical aptitude and analysis skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Previous experience in scheduling or administrative roles is preferred. -Experience in Steel Fixing. -Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings. -Maintain detailed knowledge of and ability to interpret and develop CAD drawings with accuracy. -Strong mathematical skills especially trigonometry and analytical geometry. -5 years’ experience in a similar role within the steel reinforcing industry. -Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
