  • Provide expert interpretations of building codes and related standards to assist clients and design teams.
  • Participate in client and project team meetings to discuss project progress and compliance.
  • Perform short-term on-site plan review assignments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to resolve plan review issues.
  • Conduct plan reviews for structural and non-structural disciplines.
  • Support the document control team by maintaining accurate project information, schedules, and status updates.
  • Review building plans and prepare clear, concise written comment letters on design submittals.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plan Review Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will hold current registration as a Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineer, or Architect (California registration preferred) and have at least two years of experience in plan review and/or building design for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

  • Strong knowledge of the California Building Standards Code (Title 24) and related codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • ICC Building Plans Examiner Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Plan Check Engineer or Plans Examiner on building projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid California driver’s license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Licensed Architect (State of California preferred).
