Salvage Engineer performs ship emergency repairs worldwide with a mobile team.

Tasks

-When at base, assisting the technical manager and the operations manager in the selection of new salvage equipment and setting up the right maintenance procedures. -Sharing knowledge with other engineers about complex ship's systems. -Producing reports about the actions taken to get systems operational again. As you can expect from a leading international maritime service company, you will work with state-of-the-art equipment. -Your team: As a Salvage Engineer you will work for SMIT Salvage Houston. You will work for one of the largest salvage companies in the world. You will also work with various other colleagues who are part of the worldwide Salvage team. -As part of the mobile team, provide support to the salvage master/project manager at site. -Advising the salvage inspector and superintendent about how to break into existing ship's systems in order to use them during the salvage operation. -Maintaining company owned salvage equipment.

What You Bring

-Preferably experience with a range of different types of vessels and engine-room plants. -A minimum degree in any field with experience sailing onboard ships. -Worked for at least 5 years on modern (merchant) ships.
