Staff Accountant I

Assist RS Accounting with month‑end analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.

Tasks

-Monitor and manage the Residential Services email box and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner -Participate in special projects to improve efficiencies. -Assist in monthly billback process -Assist in keeping documentation of processes current -Perform mid-month utility analysis -Assist with reporting financial information to 3rd parties including replacement reserves -Process wires as assigned -Analyze monthly account detail, research and explain significant variances for designated categories -Complete journal entries -Perform month end revenue analysis -Analysis and reconciliation of specific general ledger accounts -Submit questions from accountants to the field during the month-end close process

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or within 6-month period if currently enrolled). -Is able to work under pressure. -Possesses a strong customer service focus. -Demonstrates the ability to develop strong analytical skills. -Working knowledge of spreadsheet software. -Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). -Good time management and organizational skills desired. -Demonstrates the initiative and skills of career advancement to provide bench strength within Financial Services. -Strong sense of teamwork and work ethic demonstrated. -Is able to work well with accounting team, property management team, on-site associates and other departments including upper management. -Willing to work on a flexible schedule (overtime required).
