The Role

Overview

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CAT heavy equipment at customer sites.

Tasks

-Communicates with customers on the diagnosis and status of repairs, parts, and other concerns -Makes determinations in the field on warranty repair and guidelines, communicating decisions to customer and dispatcher -Maintains tooling in good working order as per MSHA and OSHA regulations -Accurately troubleshoots and repairs CAT equipment the first time -Safely rigs or hooks components for lifting -Works with the Service Department, Product Support Representatives, and Sales Department to meet all of the customer’s needs -Maintains credit card receipts for accounting purposes -Teaches and coaches other technicians in the field -Maintains truck and crane inspection logs on a daily basis -Maintains good customer records on jobs that have been assigned -Maintains service vehicle in safe and good repair -Transmits photos, timecards, service reports, and other information through e-mail -Promotes Wagner Equipment Co. to customers -Removes, repairs, and installs major components in varying configurations of equipment

What You Bring

-High School Diploma or GED -Class A or B Driver’s License -Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills -MSHA License -Intermediate Knowledge of DBS -Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. -Reads, understands, and applies electrical and hydraulic schematics to repair work -Ability to work independently with little or no direction -Intermediate Knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW -Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more -Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook -Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing -Well-rounded knowledge of CAT equipment -Completes CAT service reports daily that are legible, have proper grammar and sentence structure, and appropriate SIMS code -3+ years customer service experience -1+ years administrative/clerical experience -3+ years’ experience servicing heavy equipment -Relevant CAT related courses -75%- 100% -Safety & Product Knowledge
