Overview

Implement and oversee HSE programs for civil infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders. -Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices. -Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans. -Identifies, evaluates, develops and delivers project specific HSE training. -Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects. -Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan. -Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken. -Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance. -Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification. -Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees.

What You Bring

-5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry. Previous experience in a supervisory role an asset. Water/Wastewater experience a plus. -Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve. -Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology. -Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology. -Holds safety designation. -Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships. -This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. -Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. -Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. -Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
