Cash Applications Specialist

Overview

Process payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clean accounts receivable.

Tasks

-Create reports to track activity and resolution, as necessary. -Research and address payment issues like double payments, short payments, unapplied cash or other discrepancies. -Reconcile cash postings with accounting. -Engage in collection management processes, as necessary. -Support audits and internal projects, as necessary. -Share opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in cash applications and collections as key member of the AR team. -Process remittances which may be electronic and manual payment transactions including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments. -Collaborate with the billing, customer service, collections and sales teams to address customer issues.

What You Bring

-Able to work independently and with a team. -Demonstrates a positive attitude and takes a proactive approach. -Associate degree in finance or accounting, preferred but not required. -Prior experience in cash applications, billing, accounts receivable or collections. -Customer service skills, including written and verbal communications, to handle disputes and queries with both internal and external customers. -Able to manage time and work towards deadlines. -Working knowledge of systems: ERPs, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams), Customer Portals. -Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Math skills. -Basic understanding of accounting and order to cash cycle, including invoices, debits, credits and internal controls.
