The Role
Overview
Design and analyze power distribution projects, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Tasks
-Ensure that all duties are carried out according to the company's Quality Systems Procedures. -Carry out appropriate reviews of submissions and provide review reports. -Prepare layouts, designs, and reports to be carried out in accordance with relevant codes of practice, standards, regulatory authorities, and clients' requirements. All under a suitable level of Supervision from a Senior Engineer. -Liaise with staff from other business units and groups. -Keep a diary of events, record and program time spent on each task and maintain technical records. -Provide specialist knowledge input and keep up to date with the latest developments in particular fields. -Participate in technical meetings with clients. -Analyzing and interpreting data and information.

What You Bring
-Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting. -Knowledge of overhead construction methods and distribution system equipment. -Minimum 1 year of distribution experience. -Proven verbal and written communication and IT (office packages) skills. -Bachelor’s degree in civil/electrical engineering, with 3-5 years of experience working on power distribution line projects are prerequisites. competent in a variety of distribution design knowledge, including pole loading, voltage calculation, ROW documents, and other material terminology used in the distribution domain. -Strong analytical capability and an interest in electrical power systems. -Capable of devising new, more efficient approaches to solving problems and processes. -Track record in finding solutions to complex problems within deadlines. -Software knowledge to execute design work, such as ArcGIS, ArcFM, AUD, AutoCAD, DDSS, ESRI, or any other relevant software, will be preferred. A good understanding of the pole analysis using various tools such as Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, Katapult, and O-Cal will be added advantage. -Experience with various distribution design tools, as well as GIS to aid in design. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -Knowledge of utility telecommunications, distributed energy resource integration, and advanced distribution technologies a plus.
