Overview

Design engineer for water/wastewater projects, delivering and reviewing designs across disciplines.

Tasks

-Completion of work packages to cost, time and quality needs, managing change and other resources / people as required to achieve this. -Collaborate and ensure learning is shared, proactively challenge / celebrate safety performance -Engaging / leading technical reviews, meetings and presentations to support scope delivery, closing out of technical actions. -Actively learn and share best practice into the discipline team -Production and checking of tendering and design deliverables, aligned with your technical discipline, to meet project needs and client requirements. -Coordinating project work activities between team members – such as interdisciplinary reviews -Support to others in the project team and wider Costain to ensure project and corporate outcomes are achieved, in particular Costain sustainability targets. Support project reporting data such as KPIs / carbon etc -Collaborate with suppliers, other designers, construction team and similar to produce a robust and safe design output.

What You Bring

-Driving licence -Be able to manage resources as required -Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline (e.g. civil, electrical, mechanical, ICA) -Be able to lead design meetings, deliver presentations and groups -Progressing towards a Chartered professional review with relevant chartered body such as ICE, CIWEM -Able to support estimate development – scoping / hours / risks / assumptions -Understand sustainable design essentials -Be able to accurately report progress / risk / opportunities / change etc -Have working knowledge of UK Regulatory framework associated with technical discipline, ie CDM, Electrical, Environmental, Process etc -Water / Wastewater experience -Able to work accurately and deliver to promise, predict and report potential challenges to delivery -Have design engineering experience within (Mechanical, Civils, Electrical or ICA)
