Overview
Handle shipping, receiving, inventory, and material movement with forklifts in steel plant.

Tasks
-Inventories material on production floor; supplies workers with materials as needed to maintain continuity of operations. -Responsible for proper product identification to prevent errors in with data entry and inventory. -Operate all forklifts and attached equipment; exhibiting a high level of safe practices at all times to ensure no damage or harm to the operator, other persons, forklift, physical structures, or the product. -Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine appropriate materials to be moved. -Banding and warehousing of finished product to specification, as necessary. -Keeps correct pallets, cartons, lifts ready for various operating units. -Observe all plant safety rules and regulations, wear proper safety attire at all times. -Keep work area clean and orderly. -Scans, tracks, records, and communicates material information to appropriate areas, persons, or on appropriate production reports. -Properly labels and tags materials as called for in work orders as required. -Responsible for locating material in plant in accordance with production requirements and transporting locations in the warehouse. -Reports mechanical or electric problems to appropriate personnel. -Performs semi-routine job involving some variety of detail and requiring judgment. -Visually inspect finished goods for proper product, packaging, labels, count, etc, before storing in a location.
