Tasks

-Translate Agile software development stories into database capabilities supporting the needed functionality and performance, estimate level of effort, and track progress on a daily basis -Design, develop, configure and enhance data systems using appropriate technologies like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and/or Azure Synapse SQL -Design and implement new data models and optimize existing models in appropriate technologies (like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and/or Azure Synapse SQL). -Document and educate technology partners and peers regarding capabilities of constructed solutions -Construct data lake solutions based on Azure and/or AWS data lake architectures

What You Bring

-5+ years relevant experience with backend software development and/or data engineering required -Good written and verbal English communication skills and ability to work effectively as a contributor in a technical team environment -High School Diploma or equivalent required -Adequate working surface (can fit two monitors, a keyboard, mouse, and docking station) -Expertise with SQL, and other data technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and/or Azure Synapse SQL, -Mobility : Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings. -Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. -Appropriate internet and bandwidth to conduct business -Strong familiarity with Azure and/or AWS/GCP cloud environments -Communication : Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing. -Cloud engineering experience with an emphasis on Azure technologies preferred -Experience creating data repositories support web applications and REST APIs. -Proper Lighting -Visual Acuity : Ability to view computer screens and read documents for extended periods. -Experience with Python -Extended Periods of Sitting : Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed. -Flexibility : Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment. -Experience with data technologies such as Snowflake preferred -May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirement -Experience with high throughput, big volume, fast response time, scalable systems -Experience with data security a plus, for example through experience in the energy, finance, or healthcare industries -Frequent Use of Hands : Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment. -Data modelling skills for OLTP and OLAP systems -Occasional Lifting : Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 10 pounds. -Bachelor's Degree preferred in computer science or a related field -Reaching and Handling : Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace. -Ability to mentor junior team members
