Tasks

-Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement -Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply -Establish and nurture teamwork environment -Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities -Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site:  customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al. -Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed -Ensure crews have resources and support -Manage open shop and union issues -Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site -Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team -Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents -Provide work direction and performance evaluations -Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities -Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities

What You Bring

-Excellent oral and written communication skills -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field -Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience -Ability to travel may be required based on operating group -Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment -Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days. -Ability to travel 100% -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions -Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projects -Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques -Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills -Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout -Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software -Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. -Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules -Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing -Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. -Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies -Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback -Experience as a project engineer is desirable -Strong organization and team skills
