The Role

Overview

Support project controls, cost, schedule, and data analysis for capital construction.

Tasks

-Develops knowledge of accounting principles. -May support development of less experienced colleagues -Receives guidance and support on new assignments and begins working independently on more straight-forward tasks -Accountable for specific portions of a project or process with general oversight -Applies education, growing industry knowledge, technical capabilities and experience to perform assignments -Applies financial terminology, measures, financial data analysis concepts and principles in assignments. -Collects and analyzes data for tracking actual cost to funding limitations. -Provides feedback about existing procedures and contributes to new ideas and approaches -Develops and maintains WBS for small projects. -Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact. -May participate in project cost review meetings. -Provides support to tracking purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. -Supports project reporting process as required. -Develops knowledge of scope control and change management. -Applies judgement within defined parameters to find the best solution -Exchanges information on routine and non-routine matters and builds relationships across departments -Assists in the use of drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data. -Collects data and produces an initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations. -Analyzes issues and applies solutions using standard procedures and known techniques -Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting. -Begins basic analysis of cost and schedule variances. -Works with the company financial and cornerstone systems and processes.

What You Bring

-Understands progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles. Participates in the collection of progress data and review of performance trends. -Change management experience -Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles. -Experiments with new approaches and shares key learnings with team members -Familiar with the concepts and principles of project revenue and cost. -Familiar with earned value, scope control and change management concepts, principles and methodologies. -Learns to be responsive to latest information and adapts to modified approaches when circumstances change -Introduced to performance management and cost/schedule integration concepts and principles. -Proficient in Excel -Subcontractor management experience
