Tasks

-Serve as a technical mentor and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing. -Collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental consultants to integrate water resource solutions into land development and water supply projects. -Develop conceptual site models, technical calculations, sketches, and design layouts for water supply, stormwater, and environmental restoration projects. -Provide field and office support for groundwater investigations, deep well injection projects, wastewater outfall closure, mine effluent management, and carbon sequestration initiatives. -Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software to support water resources planning, stormwater management, and drainage design. -Assist project managers with budgets, schedules, work definitions, and other project-related tasks. -Perform watershed and aquifer studies, including runoff evaluation, infiltration, erosion control, aquifer recharge, and managed aquifer storage and recovery (ASR/MAR) projects. -Participate in scenario planning and implementation projects for integrated surface and groundwater management, drought mitigation, and climate resilience initiatives. -Prepare well permit applications, technical specifications, bid documents, and other deliverables. -Prepare and review Flood Studies, Drainage Reports, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), LID/BMP reports, and other technical documents. -Support permitting and regulatory compliance under local, state, federal, and NPDES/MS4 guidelines.

What You Bring

We are seeking a skilled Hydrologist to support water resources and hydrogeologic projects, including stormwater management, drainage design, water supply assessments, and environmental restoration. The annual salary ranges from $110,000 to $137,000, depending on licensure and experience. This role will involve both field and office work, technical report preparation, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and support of project management tasks. The Hydrologist will collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers to provide innovative, sustainable solutions for water supply, groundwater management, and stormwater challenges. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for this position. We are not able to sponsor work visas for this role. **This position is open to candidates located near any of our four Southern California offices: Irvine, Corona, Murrieta, or San Marcos. -Valid driver’s license and ability to work in field environments, including remote locations. -Experience with aquifer storage and recovery, managed aquifer recharge, water rights, brackish groundwater treatment, desalination, and drought mitigation. -Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). -Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. -Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, WSPG, Visual Modflow, SEAWAT, Aqesolv, Groundwater Vistas, gINT). -Minimum 5–8 years of experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources, stormwater management, or related engineering/hydrogeologic projects. -Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and contribute to team skill development. -Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and technical writing skills. -Knowledge of stormwater regulations, permitting processes, and water resource management standards. -Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation and GIS (ArcGIS) experience a plus. -Certifications such as Certified Hydrogeologist, QSD/QSP, HAZWOPER, or MSHA preferred.
