Building and Grounds Technician

Overview

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of community grounds and building facilities.

Tasks

-Maintain dumpster/compactor areas and pressure wash as needed -Participate in on-call emergency rotation -On-call rotation for emergencies -Set up/tear down for community and marketing events -Assist with minor repairs, painting, caulking, and unit checks -Re-key units, change HVAC filters, and support preventative maintenance -Daily cleaning of common areas, garages, and grounds -Identify and secure safety hazards; assist with parking enforcement -Monitor third-party vendors (landscape, snow removal, trash) -Snow removal to include shoveling and snow blowing walk ways and stairs in the community

What You Bring

-Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work outdoors, and climb ladders/stairs -Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC knowledge -Must be able to perform outdoor job functions in all weather conditions, approximately 25% of the time -High school diploma or GED -Valid driver’s license and insurance -Strong customer service and communication skills -2+ years grounds or maintenance experience (residential/commercial) -Must be able to walk the Community grounds, approximately 15% of the time -Must be able to climb a ladder approximately 5% of the time -Must be able to climb stairs approximately 10% of the time -Must be able to lift up to 80lbs, approximately 10% of the time
