Tasks

-Assist in analyzing and evaluating field and laboratory data for reporting purposes. -Utilize available software to draft project plans and assist in design development. -Conduct field investigations, research, and data collection, including geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing activities. -Prepare and review reports, providing clear and concise summaries of project findings. -Perform site inspections, construction observations, and field/laboratory testing as required. -Contribute to engineering analysis, calculations, and technical recommendations for routine and complex projects. -Support engineering technicians with on-site testing, observations, and data documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance. -Assist in proposal development, drafting reports, and preparing cost estimates for potential projects. -Work closely with Professional Engineers, project managers, and field teams to support project execution. -Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols, guidelines, and standards for every project. Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management. -Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance in all project phases, ensuring adherence to industry and UES standards.

What You Bring

-Moderate to loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial environments. -Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods. -This position requires travel in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work. -Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion. -Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) designation preferred. -Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams. -Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively interact with project teams and clients. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, or related field). -Experience with geotechnical, materials testing, or construction engineering is beneficial. -Exposure to environmental elements including dirt, dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions. -Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment. -Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections. -Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, or other relevant engineering software is a plus. -Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit). -Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
