Substation Drafter/Designer

Overview

Draft/substation design support using CAD, creating drawings and 3D models for power projects.

Tasks

-Support design revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle. -Assist in preparing material lists and bills of materials. -Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation. -Collaborate effectively with team members across multiple offices. -Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy and client standards compliance. -Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices for substation design. -Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Project Manager. -Maintain drawing standards and adhere to quality control processes. -Prepare detailed substation design drawings including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans. -Attend meetings with clients and maintain a good working relationship with clients, sub-consultants, and sub-contractors. -Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create accurate design documents.

What You Bring

-2+ years experience in Drafting and/or Design -Electrical drafting experience -Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams -Utilities/power delivery experience is desired -Understanding of power delivery and electrical design -Familiarity with Microsoft Office -Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) -Willingness to learn and adapt in substation engineering -Experience in electrical substation highly preferred
