Solar Engineer for field QA/QC, commissioning, and inspections of solar/storage systems.

Tasks

-Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables -Perform third-party solar and storage system inspections including testing (IV tracing, thermal imaging, insulation resistance, continuity...) focused on safety, quality, and reliability. Typical scopes would be:

Ability to travel 50% of the time or more nationally Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, lift at least 50 pounds -Someone obsessed with safety, quality, and reliability who takes a long-term view approach to their work to help reduce future solar and storage system risks -A forward-thinking person excited to use and contribute to SolarGrade, building software technology to solve industry problems -Highly valuable to have OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA 70e certifications -Root cause analysis -3+ years of relevant solar and/or energy storage experience -At least 1 year of experience performing system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performing electrical tests (Isc, Voc, insulation resistance, IV Curve tracing, thermal imaging…) -A Solar Engineer with field experience in construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and Quality Assurance, and Quality Control (QA/QC). Knowledgeable in system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performing electrical tests (Isc, Voc, insulation resistance, IV Curve tracing, thermal imaging…). Ideally, with experience working in Utility, Commercial and Industrial projects -Third-party construction QA/QC -Preferred solar field experience: construction management, QA/QC, commissioning, operations, and maintenance -Ability to use fieldwork software technology tools and navigate numerous computer applications and technology independently -A scrappy, good communicator, open-minded, entrepreneurial thinker who can make decisions in a resource-limited environment and understand the benefits and trade-offs of the many different solutions available for a given problem.
