Tasks
-Building Effective Teams – Creates strong morale and spirit in his/her teams; shares wins and successes; fosters open dialogue; lets people finish and be responsible for their work; lets subordinates present to senior management; acts as if real success is the success of the team. -Manage manpower based on Customer’s/Project requirements -Review and audit field jobs. -Make certain equipment is scheduled and available for jobs. -Directing Others – Is good at establishing clear directions; sets stretching objectives; distributes the workload appropriately; lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner; maintains two-way dialogue with subordinates on work and results. -Complete projects consistently meeting customer’s deadline and on budget. -Interview job applicants. -Organizing – Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner. -Perform employee reviews and recommend appropriate salary changes. -Develop and review proposals and reports. -Providing technical guidance on testing of Electrical apparatus. -Provide general supervision for Field Engineers and Technicians. -Develop daily schedule for Field Engineers and Technicians. -Review reports of field engineers. -Review and recommend field technical procedures and procedure changes. -Coordinate technical training for field personnel. -Work with Business Administrator to develop weekly invoicing and monthly status reports. -Responsible for safety requirements, career development, training, and reporting of their assigned teams. -Provide technical support and assistance for field personnel. -Review and ensure team members adhere to Customer specifications. -Supervise 2+ Tiger Teams consisting of 4+ technicians each. -Foster a Customer-First Mindset

What You Bring
-Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work. Must be available for out- of-town work of up to several months. -Frequent bending / twisting -Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders) -Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for problem evaluation. -Frequent driving (car, van, truck) -Extreme cold (below 32*) -Valid Driver’s License. -Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping -Able to write detailed reports, using a computer. -Passed the NETA III/NETA IV (International Electrical Testing Association) exam or NICET equivalent. -Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA. -Strong background and experience in most types of switchgear testing through the 230 kV class. -Frequent Standing -Action Oriented – Enjoys hard work; is action oriented and full of energy for the things that he/she sees as challenging; not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning; seizes opportunities when they arise. -Willing to travel anywhere in North America ~80% of the time. Schedule is dependent upon project work and is flexible to the degree it can be. This is worked out on a case by case basis with your assigned project manager. PTO scheduled in advance can and will be accommodated. -Medium Lifting (30 Ibs. – 45 Ibs.) -Heavy Lifting (over 50 Ibs.) -Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME and two years experience. OR Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experience. OR High school education or equivalent and six years minimum same or similar work experience. -Work outdoors (no effective protection from weather) -Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.) -Good judgment, dependable, supervises projects with technical expertise and good business management skills. -Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell. Frequently required to sit, climb and balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move 100 pound test sets. -Does NOT require relocation to a Vertiv headquarter or regional office at this time. -Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and peers. -Extreme heat (above 100*) -Noise Level (Medium / High need to shout to be heard) -Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors) -Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research and operation of computer controlled test equipment.
