Tasks

-Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive event strategy that showcases Calgary Airports vision and strategic priorities. -Track and analyze key event metrics (ex. attendance, participant satisfaction, budget adherence, and overall event impact). -Manage all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, scheduling, registration, transportation, accommodation, and contingency plans. -Ensure event budgets are cost-effective and adherence to financial guidelines. They also are required to track and report budget details to the budget holder. -Provide event summary reports with outcomes key learnings for future events. -Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues that arise. -Work closely with our internal stakeholders and executive group to create cohesive and exciting event concepts that support employee engagement and external branding efforts. -Plan a diverse range of events, including townhalls, corporate meetings, conferences, retail openings, crew seasonal activities, team-building events, holiday parties, inaugural flight launches, and community outreach events. -Providing day-to-day direction to external vendors and partners, including but not limited to event planners, caterers, and venue managers, to ensure high-quality execution of events.

What You Bring

-Experience managing a wide range of events (ranging from 20 – 3000 attendees) from planning to execution with a track record of successful large-scale event planning and execution. -4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in event planning, corporate events, hospitality, marketing, or a related field. -Post-secondary diploma in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. -Experience gathering and analyzing event feedback, metrics, or KPIs to support process improvement. -Experience using event management software, registration platforms, or digital collaboration tools. -Prior experience in fast-paced environments such as airports, visitor centers, or public institutions is considered an asset. -Bilingual in English and French. -Experience managing event logistics, including venue selection, vendor negotiation, catering, audio-visual, transportation, and accommodations.
