Tasks

-Problem Solving and Innovation: Identify design issues and provide effective solutions throughout the design process. -Performance: Execute engineering tasks in transportation and highway design, ensuring adherence to relevant design criteria, standards, and processes. -Career Growth: Develop expertise in highway design and contribute to Century Engineering’s continued growth in the transportation sector. -Design and Planning: Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction, as well as construction cost estimates. -Client Relationship: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and project success. -Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to deliver effective highway design solutions. -Project Coordination: Ensure designs meet state and federal highway regulations, codes, and client specifications.

What You Bring

-Knowledge: Apply a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, including roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and stormwater management. -Engineering Intern (EI) license required. -Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain PE within 6 months. -Proficiency with, MicroStation, Open Roads Designer (ORD), 3D Modeling etc. -Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. -Experience with project delivery of State Agency Transportation Departments – Delaware preferred. -Familiarity with state and federal highway design regulations and guidelines. -6+ years of relevant highway design experience. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
