The Role

Overview

Lead design and staging of traffic projects, road geometry, signage, stormwater, etc.

Tasks

-Assist in drawing production and review -Undertake a wide variety of design and design review tasks including but not limited to; detailed road geometry, car park layouts, statutory signage & line marking plans, vehicle turning swept paths, stormwater drainage assessments, on-road and off-road bicycle facilities, and roadside safety barrier design/assessment. -Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to provide design advice and solutions. -Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions -Use reference documents (e.g. Austroads Guides, TfNSW//TMR supplements and contract reference specifications) to determine appropriate standards and design requirements on a project basis.

What You Bring

-Bachelor of Civil Engineering Recognised -Good planning and organizational skills -Understanding of stormwater drainage principles including aquaplaning and flow width checks -Experience in a variety of project areas of traffic and road alignment design in areas involving rural, urban and highway road design including experience in consulting and construction environment. -Strong verbal and written communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills to operate collaboratively within a team environment -Ability to manage and delegate to individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives -Exposure and demonstrated experience in working in road Construction Environment -Proficiency with SIDRA and AutoCAD -Experience in the use of standard software and workflows in the execution of projects -Ability to function with minimal supervision -Experience with working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment -Demonstrated experience in road design to Austroads Guidelines/ Australian Standards and Statutory Authority Supplements -Experience in writing Technical Design Reports -Good communication and interpersonal skills -Road Safety Auditor Qualification (Desirable) -The ability to apply sound judgement, professional traffic engineering and related civil road design knowledge to all tasks to achieve the desired project outcomes. -Has been exposed to contractor/live traffic environments and temporary works -Minimum 7+ years of relevant design experience in civil/transport design
