Overview

Provide H&S advisory support for weekend civil works at Sizewell C nuclear project.

Tasks

-Support operational teams to deliver Zero Harm and the Zero Harm Events Calendar. -Ensure that lessons learned from monitoring, events and or from the Alliance parent companies are communicated and adopted by the project teams. -Undertake Health and Safety compliance inspections, tours and audits to satisfy the monthly HSW Assurance Plan, the HSW Manager, or as requested by the CWA in response to emerging risks specifically across weekend working. -Communicate and implement the HSW strategy. -Support the review and updating of relevant project HSW documentation. -Supports the implementation of the Nuclear Safety message during engagements with the whole CWA team. -Support the implementation of and ensure compliance with the Sizewell C (SZC) project standards and the CWA Safety Management System (SMS). -Build solid relationships with stakeholders and can deliver on customer strategic and tactical requirements. -Works closely with the Duty Manager / Weekend Lead and operational teams to respond to any events. -Undertake reviews of relevant safety documentation, e.g. work package plans / task briefings -Support project teams during work planning to evaluate and address potential risks. -Promote the use of the project and CWA reporting tools ensuring that actions are taken, and feedback delivered.

What You Bring

-Can plan and undertake witness accounts / statements. -Able to support or deliver training and advisory sessions to operational teams and Tier 2 contractors including: Setting to Work, Fact Finders (including Just / Fair Culture), Occupational Health (OH) and CWA SMS Familiarisation. -Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint -Able to build relationships with the CWA project teams and wider interested stakeholders. -Able to feed information into the Project and Parent Company Reporting Systems. -Able to respond to and support / deal effectively with emerging events. -Ability to influence and promote a positive HSW culture, by providing constructive feedback to others around their performance, strengths and development needs. -Able to coordinate and share relevant information required to compile the appropriate reports when an event has occurred. -Ability to communicate and promote a positive Health & Safety culture -Able to identify and rank risk associated with CWA work activities. -Competence in accident and incident investigation. -Has previously experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role with relevant constructed related or transferable skills. -Able to prepare fact driven reports following inspections, tours, audits and investigations. -Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. -Able to motivate, coach and support the CWA Project Management teams to deliver the HSW project requirements. -NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety. -Trained to CWA standard for Investigating Incidents (Principal Incident Investigators HFAC’s Training). -Able to use data and information for the preparation of HSW reports. -Understands the CWA and Project Event Reporting Procedural requirements. -NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. -Minimum Grad IOSH (or working towards). -Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) competence -Able to engage at all levels within the CWA operational team structure. -Has a good understanding of UK Health and Safety Legislation.
