Tasks

-Prepare patient information for upcoming appointments. -Collect co-pays and outstanding balances. -Verify insurance eligibility via websites and phone. -Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. -Prepare urgent referral lists for provider review. -Interact with provider offices, insurance companies, and healthcare vendors. -Send and receive medical records with proper authorization. -Process incoming faxes and sort accordingly. -Maintain IPA and Health Plan compliance standards. -Send appointment reminder texts to patients. -Enforce company policies and safety procedures. -Accept and provide constructive feedback. -Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars to reduce gaps and ensure timely care. -Check voicemails daily and respond as needed. -Accurately document patient concerns, messages, and appointment details using proper grammar and spelling. -Call patients for telehealth appointments, verify address, pharmacy, and insurance information, and forward the call to the provider. -Represent the company positively and professionally. -Collect and distribute mail from the mailbox. -Greet and check in patients. -Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. -Scan external records into the EMR system appropriately.

What You Bring

-Minimum six (6) months experience in a medical office environment required. -Strong customer service and first-line problem-solving skills. -Regular attendance and travel as required. -High attention to detail and accurate documentation. -Familiarity with various insurance types and eligibility websites preferred. -Answer incoming calls using excellent customer service skills. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. -Working knowledge of HIPAA and compliance guidelines. -Excellent oral and written communication. -Basic computer skills; accurate typing and 10-key proficiency. -Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and reference tools relevant to Medical Assistant scope of practice. -Active listening and critical thinking. -Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
