The Role

Overview

Oversee recreation areas, pools, and fitness center, ensuring guest service.

Tasks

-Keep accurate documentation and guest records. -Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. -Provide basic operational information for guests and members. -Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. -Greet and welcome all guests and members and offer assistance on an ongoing basis. -Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations. -Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. -Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. -Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. -Provide Recreation areas tours as necessary. -Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. -Submit maintenance requests to ensure facility/amenities are in proper working order. -Assist guests and members with check in and out. -Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. -Assist guests and members with reservations for services. -Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees. -Process transactions for all events, guest fees, massage fees, membership fees, dues, etc. -Assist the sales effort by providing information and communicating potential guest/member needs to sales manager. -Handle all administrative functions of all Recreation areas including maintaining inventories of supplies, answering telephones and taking messages, etc.

What You Bring

-Ability to stand during the entire shift. -Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. -Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. -Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. -Must be able to completely and accurately explain the fitness center and philosophy and programs. -Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. -Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. -Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. -Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. -1-year experience in fitness industry preferred. -Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs. -Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes or breath of a health and fitness employee during a shift. -Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas. -High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
