The Role

Overview

Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control and team to ensure uninterrupted production.

Tasks

-Ensure inventory is accurate and maintained via PPI counts/stock counts and keep accurate inventory of materials via SAP stock control system, safety stocks limits. -Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of Goods in, ensuring procedures are adhered to and completed in a correct and timely manner. -Work to reduce obsolete and slow moving stock (KPI). -Issue goods from stock into work (from the system and physically) -Work closely with the wider business to maximise quality, safety, customer satisfaction and profitability. -Handling invoice queries when related to Goods in -Provide a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety procedures. -Maintain a clean, tidy workplace (housekeeping/5S). -Ensure a ‘customer facing’ approach with a commitment to communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with all stakeholders -Actively look at continuous improvement of current working practices, identifying cost savings without compromising quality, safety of others and yourself or service. -Organised stores area and implement a one piece flow system -Adhoc order placement as and when required in order to keep the downtime as minimal as possible. -Maintain MRP run – flush through based on usage, lead time, cost etc to work with the buyer and ensure stock is moving continuously. -Keep flow of stock sufficient (from supplier through to customer both internal and external – ie, kanbans, line stock, storage locations. -Departmental KPI’s to be monitored and driven throughout department and reported. -To manage a rolling stock check program (PPI counts), monitoring booking out procedures, escalation of issues and communicating reports. -Build a good relationship with suppliers/customers. -To manage the day to day stores operations run smoothly, and ensure 100% availability of all stocked materials.

What You Bring

-Proven successful experience of working in a stores environment and a good knowledge of warehouse principles. -Strong people and performance management skills. -Strong numerical skills. -Computer literate. -Safe and active approach to every aspect of work -Good understanding of customer deliverables, impact of failure and associated costs. -Strong analytical and problem solving skills. -Ability to lead and motivate a team, utilising appropriate interpersonal styles. -Organised and flexible with attention to detail. -Ability to sustain and develop team working.
