Tasks

-Reviewing design documents for compliance with scheme requirements, utilising gained knowledge and experience to advise on buildability and value engineering opportunities. -Attending meetings with clients, including presenting and discussing design solutions. -Proactively managing a design team which may include consultants and/or specialist designers. -Preparation of design documents, briefs, reports and management plans. -Development and management of design programmes.

What You Bring

-Must have an engineering background which allows them to envisage how schemes are built for example at experienced Senior Engineer, Sub Agent, Site Agent or Site Manager level. -A general understanding of common construction specifications. -An understanding of the need to work to accepted design processes, procedures, guidance, codes and standards. -The ability to manage and ensure quality throughout design process and approval. -A liking for detail and accuracy. -Programming software skills and experience in coordinating design programmes. -Good collaborative communication skills. -Soft management skills to encourage designers to provide on time, right first time, solutions. -Awareness of applicable CDM Regulation requirements and able to ensure the designers implement them.
