The Role

Overview

GIS analyst/planner delivering data analysis, mapping, and planning support for FDOT projects.

Tasks

-Collect, assimilate, analyze, and manage project-related data developed through research, interviews, surveys, and other methods. -Assist with Work Program activities -Provide full time, in-house staff support to FDOT Systems Implementation Office -Create ESRI Story Maps, AGOL applications, dashboards, and other interactive tools -Conduct technical analysis involving data analytics, GIS, etc. and produce maps and tables -Assist with quality control activities -Work on SIS planning projects/documents – Policy Plan, Needs Plan, Cost Feasible Plan, 2nd Five, 1st Five -Advance editing and programming using Python, VB, SQL, R or other scripting languages -Develop GIS and graphic maps conveying complex data through a visual lens. Conduct constraints mapping and maps/documents required by the project. -Develop spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python or other GIS scripting languages -Create, maintain, distribute Department’s databases, metadata, and other documentation -Assist with training activities -Define regional or local transportation planning problems or priorities.

What You Bring

-Esri Certification -Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Apps -Local candidates preferred -Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or closely related field -Familiarity with FDOT Systems Implementation Office functions is a plus -GISP, AICP, PE or other professional certification a plus -5 years of related experience preferred -Ability to work independently and in a team environment -Working knowledge of interoperability tools -ArcGIS Server experience is a plus -A minimum of 3 years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset the required years of experience -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Proficient in use of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS extensions e.g., 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst
