The Role

Overview

Install and maintain fiber/copper cabling, power connections, and infrastructure for ISP/OSP projects.

Tasks

-Supports pre-implementation coordination activities. -Supports safe work environments. -Implements physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, and butterfly diagrams. -Participates in and/or attends site surveys, assisting Network plan Engineers in documenting current site ISP/OSP configurations. -Restores facilities to pre-install or better conditions. -Works on telecommunication projects of varying size, scope, complexity, and location, and supports preliminary development of the SPRIP. -Performs circuit testing for voltage, amperage, continuity, and safety after installation and adjusts as needed. -Conducts systems pre-tests and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria. -Ensuring installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition. -Participates in the survey, design, and implementation of physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians) conduits, patch panels, and butterfly diagrams. -Coordinates work effort with ISP/OSP engineers and/or subcontractors. -Assists Network Plant Engineers in the design and optimization of the supporting infrastructure in support of the SPRIP. -Identifies and resolves minor project problems to reduce project and program risks. -Supports deployment teams for survey, installation, testing, and QA activities. -Performs restoration of facilities to pre-install or better conditions.
