Tasks

-Large and small team collaboration. Communication with other disciplines, sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, stakeholders and clients -Coordination with multiple business groups within GHD, subconsultants and external agencies -Oversee or produce design work in an integrated 3D environment that focuses on quality and meets or exceeds company and industry quality standards -Act as a technical lead for a defined scope of work -Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, technical reports and tender documents -Applying technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects -Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget -Producing conceptual design, detailed design, and related drawings for a wide variety of sites, including linear utility modelling, site grading and site servicing plan modelling/design, road and rail corridor design and modelling, and transit stations. -Carried out project coordination or project management tasks, including project planning, scheduling, financial controls, monthly reporting, deliverable tracking and team coordination -Working as a team, receiving mentorship and guidance from Senior staff, and providing mentorship and supervision and oversight of Junior staff -Contribute to the development of proposals

What You Bring

-Strong experience with geometric design, including alignments, profiles, corridor modeling, and cross section development -Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion -Experience in design delivery within both conventional and alternative project delivery models is considered an asset -Extensive experience of using corridor and pipe network module in Civil 3D. -Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment -Extensive experience with 3D model development, completing design, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, annotating and drafting. -Professional Engineer/Technologist registered or eligible for registration in Alberta or British Columbia -Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering -Experience with Construction Administration & Inspection are considered assets -Understanding of geometric design principles i.e. TAC Geometric Guidelines, BC Supplement to TAC, Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD), BC Manual of Standard Traffic Signs and Pavement Markings -Experience and working knowledge of AutoTURN or Autodesk Vehicle tracking -Experience in creating conceptual and detailed design models and producing related drawings for civil design projects -5-10 years of civil design and modelling experience -Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies such as BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations and automation are considered assets -Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate work in order to meet required deadlines while complying with procedures and best practices.
