The Role

Overview

Piping field engineer managing construction, safety, QA, material and subcontract coordination.

Tasks

-Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. -Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. -Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals, -Prepares construction drawings and sketches. -Initiates requisitions for field purchases -Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. -Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures. -Reviews and approves inspection test plans, -Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

What You Bring

-Technical knowledge of construction surveying, piping, hydrotesting, and welding. Experience with the piping discipline such as PCCP, HDPE, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy piping. -Must be familiar with current industry quality standards. Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office. -Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program. -Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities -Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). -Knowledge of work packaging. -Basic knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development. -Direct hire construction experience -Basic understanding of production management including scheduling. Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. -Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and Bechtel database applications. -Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
