Overview

Analyze asbestos samples using polarized light microscopy and manage LIMS data.

Tasks

-Assists in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations -Performs analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed -Performs independent data reviews for other analysts’ work -Co-ordinates and manages projects according to their rush status and due time for timely delivery -Prepare and analyze asbestos samples -Maintains and updates all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as necessary -Performs confirmation of lab results as needed by client services personnel -Accurately enters and reports analytical data using the LIMS -Performs and completes all analytical testing QA related tasks as needed -Follows company policies and procedures and ensures that coworkers are doing the same

What You Bring

-Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English -Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills -2-3 years of laboratory work experience involving asbestos or microscopy analysis preferred. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitude in a fast paced working environment. -Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Geology, or closely related science. -Analytical laboratory techniques -Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship -Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases -Effective oral and written communication skills
