Tasks
-Assigning resources to projects to provide high quality on time delivery of results. -Manage client relations with respect to business development activities and work assignments. -Provide input regarding technical training requirements and opportunities -Participate in IEEE, CIGRE, IEC or other international organizations. -Stay up to date on the latest simulation tools and techniques used within the industry. -Preparation of proposals including development of methodology, staffing requirements and labor and expense cost estimates. -Business Development/Client Relations Participate in corporate marketing and business development activities related to power system studies with an emphasis on EMT analysis. -Write papers and give presentations at technical conferences. -Manage research and development activities associated with power system studies and new technologies and/or innovative study techniques, modelling and simulation. -Leadership/Management Provide technical advice, guidance, and mentorship to technical team members. -Grow and develop a network of industry connections within the power system global community. -Provide technical support to projects in the areas of AC and DC transmission system design and operation. -Projects for Clients Provide direct project leadership on EMT power system studies projects. The work includes carrying out and providing guidance to the studies team on the following: developing study methodologies, preparing models and project study cases, analyzing simulation results, identifying system issues and possible mitigation strategies as well as preparing and reviewing study reports. -Meeting with clients to report on project progress, interim and final study results. -Responsible for ensuring that high quality project deliverables are prepared in a timely manner, to meet project schedules and budgets.

What You Bring
-Experience interacting with internal and external clients. -Expert level of experience in power system studies with emphasis on EMT analysis with strong background in static and dynamic modelling of HVDC converters, static var compensators, STATCOMS and other power electronic devices. -solutions to complex problems. -Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. -Willingness to travel within the country and internationally as required. -Expert understanding of North American power systems, associated standards and regulations such as NERC TPL standards. -Ability to anticipate problems and provide creative, quick -Minimum of 15 years of experience as an electrical engineer, with focus on EMT studies for generation and transmission, renewable energy, battery storage, and HVDC and other power electronic and inverterbased resource (IBR) systems. -Selfmotivated collaborator that can also work as a successful independent researcher. -Expert user of PSCAD and other EMT software applications. -Strong background in other power system analysis software including PSSE, PSLF, ASPEN, ETAP, CYME, DSATools, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, etc. -Spoken and written technical communication skills in other languages are considered an asset. -MSc in Electrical Engineering or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. -International experience completing power system planning studies is an asset. -Selfstarter able to work independently with minimal or no supervision and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. -and reliable -Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences. -Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng and/or PE) is required. -Proven written and verbal English language communication skills. -Ability to get things done ontime and within the project deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
