Tasks

As a Survey Technician/Crew Chief for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work both independently as well as with crew members conducting the field survey work relating to boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout under the responsible charge of the Registered Professional Surveyor. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the field crew using standard operating procedures and current health and safety standards. The daily duties include the operation of robotic total stations and GPS receivers to accurately collect relevant data and information in a concise manner as well as cut brush, drive stakes, take detailed notes and diagrams and maintain company equipment and survey vehicles.

What You Bring

-College level survey courses, professional courses, technical courses, self-study a plus; -Proficient with descriptor coding, file upload and download; -Experience with Arizona State Plane coordinate system; -Proficient at survey equipment setup and use including Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble scanners, tripods, backsights, layout rods, levels, handheld lasers, and other common survey equipment; -Proficient with field data collection and transfer; -Experience with job setup and project calibration with Trimble TSC3 or similar; -Understanding of coordinate translation, rotation, and datum adjustment with data collector; -Experience with field procedure associated with Boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, Records of Surveys, and Civil Design surveys; -Valid State of Arizona driver’s license is mandatory. -3+ years minimum experience as a Survey Technician; -An understanding of the principles and mathematics of surveying; -Proficient with Trimble R-10 GPS or later and TSC3 or later data collector or similar; -Proficient at field note taking; -Practiced at reading construction plans and construction staking; -Experience using cut sheets and staking sheets for construction staking;
