The Role

Overview

Assist with procurement of construction materials, aiming to become a Quantity Surveyor.

Tasks

-Support colleagues in the Buying department with day-to-day procurement tasks. -Build positive working relationships with site teams and suppliers. -Develop knowledge of construction materials, processes, and procurement systems. -Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm lead times, and resolve order issues. -Prepare to transition into the Quantity Surveying department after two years. -Place purchase orders with suppliers for construction materials and equipment. -Assist in tracking costs and ensuring materials are ordered within budget. -Maintain accurate records of orders and deliveries.

What You Bring

-Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly. -Interest or qualifications in construction-related studies (e.g. BTEC, HNC, T-Level). -Driving licence (or working towards). -Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office). -Years 1–2: Hands-on training in procurement and buying processes. -Enthusiasm to build a career in construction. -Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. -Previous part-time work experience in retail, customer service, or admin.
