The Role

Overview

Lead and manage prefabrication processes, coach teams, and integrate prefabrication into projects.

Tasks

-Collaboration with project teams during pursuit, preconstruction and construction phases to establish parameters for project-specific prefabrication strategies, and develop execution plans for successful delivery of prefabrication -Assesses and manages quality of work produced by team. -Supporting project teams as subject matter expert for specific client projects -Capturing necessary metric tracking for identified prefabrication plans -Creates, monitors and manages scheduling; directs assignments and goal setting for optimal productivity and resource management. -Provides feedback and coaching to support individual employee performance, learning and career development. -Communicates and explains goals and encourages and motivates team performance and productivity in alignment with broader work program and corporate goals and plans. Leads and facilitates effective team meetings. Recognizes individual and team accomplishments. -May support multiple projects at the same time as it relates to prefabrication. -Responsible for coaching project-level support efforts that include: -Removes obstacles and solves problems and addresses escalated issues from team members to optimize team performance and productivity. -Collaborates with prefabrication management and leadership on contribution of project specific prefabrication execution processes that serve as a guide for teams to lead or assist. -Assists in development of prefab lessons learned and best practices. This includes refining a comprehensive catalogue of implementation guides. -Serves as a change agent by supporting corporate and work program change initiatives. Models and communicates positive approaches to adapting to change. -Partners with off-site self perform leadership to guide and develop JE Dunn’s Design for Manufacture & Digital Fabrication capabilities. -Participates in a range of talent management activities, which may include responsibilities such as evaluating and managing performance, providing formal and informal feedback, recruiting and staffing, employee learning and development, addressing employee relations risks and issues, etc. -Responsible for learning and understanding client specific prefabrication program on projects. This will include working with JE Dunn prefabrication program lead as well as other project prefabrication leads from other companies within program. -Assists in development of processes and resources that support a comprehensive internal (eg. differentiation, labor and profitability) and external (eg. cost, schedule, safety, quality) metric-driven business case for prefabrication advantages over traditional methods. -Provides coaching and development to prefabrication team members to advance knowledge within a specific area of prefabrication

What You Bring

-0-2 years people management experience (Preferred) -Has a passion for integrating prefabrication and manufacturing processes into commercial construction -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally -Current valid driver's license (Required) -Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through building relationships -In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered -Knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project -Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project -Ability to conduct effective presentations – Advanced -Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds -Organizational skills- Advanced -Communication skills, verbal and written – Advanced -Ability to think in a highly structured manner adapting manufacturing processes with construction processes while also having creativity to develop specialized solutions by anticipating potential challenges -Ability to prioritize multiple projects- Advanced -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or related field (Preferred) -Serves in a leadership role or on a board for relevant industry and community organizations (Preferred) -Knowledge of the means and methods of manufacturing processes -Proficiency in MS Office – Advanced -Successful completion of company training and role-specific professional development coursework, within required timeframe (Required) -May require extensive periods of travel -Active involvement in relevant industry and community organizations (Required) -Successful completion and maintenance of First Aid Certification, CPR within required timeframe (Required) -Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy -Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs -Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen -Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling -Inspires a sense of team in the work environment. Utilizes communication and conflict resolution skills to foster teamwork and collaboration. Models a positive and professional attitude, maintaining composure under pressure. -Autonomy & Decision Making: Makes decisions within defined limits of authority and consults supervisor on other decisions. -Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design AP (Accredited Professional) (Preferred) -Successful completion of OSHA 10 training, within required timeframe (Preferred) -Technical market expert with knowledge of industry trends, innovations, etc. -Knowledge of BIM quality procedures, overall processes and application in the AEC industry -8+ years manufacturing and/or engineering experience (Preferred)
