Tasks

-Works to develop new process improvement concepts to increase efficiency and better team engagement. -The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of filling photocopier/printers). -Negotiate purchases for Major Equipment and Subcontracts on jobs up to $1,000,000; Larger jobs after review with either the Purchasing Director. -Conduct weekly meetings (formal or informal) with office staff as needed to ensure timely subcontract processing, timely PO processing, bonds received, review of issues, and to foster a collaborative work environment with both internal and external customers. -Maintain a strong presence and relationship with Project Managers (PMs), Engineering and key staff at major suppliers in all markets. -Work with PMs as requested for pre-bid buyouts. Suggest strategy on a job-by-job basis. -While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. -Review incoming buyouts. -Create monthly reports for review with the Director of Purchasing including: Cost Analysis of Commodities and Major Equipment, Line Card Changes, Vendor Representative Changes, Vendor Problems, Vendor Meetings, PM Concerns, and Back Charge Log. -Work with Sales Managers to ensure a working understanding of Project Manager needs in order to improve on Purchasing department processes and results. -As the employee maintains and orders supplies to the Project Group, the employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and mail cubicles. -Stays current on the following emphasis points of Leadership & Communication, Dispute Resolution, Supply Chain Management, Redline Review, Pricing Agreements, Rebate Programs, Process Improvement, Productivity KPIs, Department Compliance. -Work to manage the process of mitigating delays, properly notifying suppliers of their responsibilities from a cost perspective relative to supplier caused issues, and resolving billing disputes between ACCO and suppliers. -Subcontract review of non-union requests, bond reviews, and redline review/negotiation. -Reviews POs and subcontracts for typos, scope accuracy, contractual language and ethical issues. -The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. -Manage all back charges in the assigned area of operations, maintain back charge data, maintain folder structure, and review all pending back charges with the Purchasing Director. .

What You Bring

-High School Diploma or equivalent -Engagement: Shows a knack for using emotion and logic to communicate a persuasive vision and connect with people. -Proactivity / Initiative: Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one’s level/position and with minimal supervision. -Previous experience with purchasing large projects and contract compliance. -Big Picture: Understands and contributes to organizations’ short- and long-term business strategy. On a personal level has independently developed a vision for short- and long-term career success. -Strong knowledge and application of the purchasing process from start to finish. -A bachelor's degree in construction management or similar discipline -Regular and routine attendance. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision. -Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. -Strong attention to detail -Experience with MS Windows environment, including proficiencies with Word and Excel. -Demonstrate a track record of success in building effective teams and interpersonal relationships while steadfastly pushing self and others for results -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. -Management experience preferred. -Teamwork: The ability to effectively work toward common goals with others by supporting, encouraging, and sharing information in an authentic and approachable manner. -Problem-Solver: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve a problem in support of personal, group, department, or organizational objectives. -Insight: The ability to gather and make sense of information that suggests new possibilities. -HVAC or similar industry experience is preferred but not required. -5 to 7 years of experience in purchasing procurement activities in the construction industry strongly preferred. -Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
