Tasks

-Suggests remedial action or “work around” to the members of the Project Team so that they can maintain the Project baseline estimate or schedule. -Performs assigned tasks related to establishing and/or implementing project control standards for recording, reporting, and analyzing performance data. Performs performance monitoring and control functions for specific applications. -Prepares specific budgets, plans, schedules, forecasts, and change management in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures. Assists in developing the requirements for budgeting, planning, scheduling, and forecasting standards. -Assists in Project close-out requirements both Financial and Documentation -Participates in any estimating, scheduling, planning or cost related activities as required to support the project team. -Prepares cost (man-hours, dollars, and quantities), schedule, and performance/productivity reports and variance analysis as required to explain differences between budget, actual and forecasted expenditures and baseline schedule and current schedule. -Maintains continuous records of project cost or schedule status based upon input from the project team. -Performs routine data analysis and development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as directed. -Provide PROJECT CONTROL leadership to prepare all monthly Project Control reporting deliverables and assist in establishing approved cash flow, tracking, and estimate development. Interface with EPCM Project Control personnel to ensure timely communication and support of project reporting requirements: -Alerts the Project Team and Cost/Schedule Engineer of cost or schedule impacts. -Monitors and evaluates the effects of project changes including but not limited to trends, scope changes, and delays. -Assists in developing Work Breakdown Structures as directed.

The Spear Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharma industry Project Controls Manager with Pharma manufacturing project construction experience to provide leadership for comprehensive project control services that will be a key component of a highly integrated project team (IPT) working to deliver the next generation of life improving pharmaceuticals. The role will support a $2 billion-dollar greenfield pharma manufacturing project for a top tier, global pharma industry leader.This Owner’s Side Project Controls Manager position will interface with all phases of project execution primarily managed by EPCM firms and constructed by intergraded Trade Partners/Subcontractors. Team focus is on Operational Readiness driven to support Product Licensure, and planning requirements include all phases from project inception (FEL1) through Process Qualification (PQ). The position requires being a leader while communicating with all stakeholders to manage all Project Control requirements to deliver cost and schedule planning; and have a strong knowledge of all types of estimating from concept through definitive construction estimates.* -Ideal candidate is results driven with an Operational Readiness perspective, has technical capability in the field, and is a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills -Effective Time-Management as deadlines are crucial in project management, making sure that everything is on time and moving smoothly is a critical part of the job -Understanding in Microsoft office programs, Primavera®, SAP. -Demonstrate LEADERSHIP and excellent COMMUNICATION and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all levels in the organization, particularly with FEL and EPCM Partners to ensure understanding of planning/scheduling requirements and continuous improvement of processes. Possess leadership skills necessary to transform and sustain a high performing group of technical professionals. Drive planning development and attend recurring and non-recurring project related meetings as required. -BS / BA Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related. -Display KNOWLEDGE of the pharmaceutical industry across multiple product types (drug substance, drug product, lab, large molecule, small molecule, etc.). -Expert level skills with Power Pivots, Visual Basic and Cube data management is preferred. -Education and/or training in the management of large amounts of information. Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data and convert that to project-related knowledge. Understanding of planning/scheduling and cost engineering and/or estimating. Requires well developed verbal and written communication skills. -EXPERIENCE in strategic planning/scheduling and Lean Project Delivery Best Practices (e.g. Target Value Delivery, Last Planner®, Takt planning, Touchplan®, NetPoint®) is a significant plus, along with knowledge of AE, CM, and Professional Service providers planning/scheduling means and methods.
