The Role

Overview

Locate underground utilities using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation.

Tasks

-Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and industry standards. -Prepare and interpret field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data. -Accurately locate and identify underground utilities, such as gas, electric, water, and telecommunications lines. -Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other field staff to ensure accurate reporting and safe excavation practices. -Perform subsurface utility investigations using ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation techniques. -Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and functional condition. -Assist with the preparation of reports, deliverables, and field notes.

What You Bring

-Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed. -Ability to carry required instruments and equipment -Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. -Ability to lift 50 pounds -Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans. -Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments -The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat. -Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A. -1-2 years of experience in SUE, utility locating, or a related field. -Highschool diploma or GED equivalent -Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check -Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
