  • Lead the origination and execution of tailored energy contracts across a diverse range of buyersβ€”including corporates, retailers, and aggregatorsβ€”delivering unique, commercially innovative solutions such as firmed renewables, hybrid offerings, and bespoke structured products.
  • Monitor energy market trends, regulatory developments, and customer demand to refine origination strategy and commercial offerings.
  • Represent the organisation at external events, industry forums, and client engagements, building the company’s presence and reputation in the market.
  • Support internal investment approval processes, including preparation of commercial cases, board papers, and executive briefings.
  • Lead development of commercial offer materials, term sheets, and contract documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across Project Development, Investment, Legal, Technical, and Energy Markets to align on deal parameters and risk positions.
  • Identify, build, and maintain deep relationships with senior leaders across large energy users, electricity retailers, and intermediaries to create a strong, high-conviction pipeline of opportunities.
  • Own the end-to-end contracting process, including deal structuring, pricing, negotiation, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain a national buyer network to support project commercialisation and market expansion.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to evaluate and articulate risk/return profiles of various deal structures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex negotiations simultaneously while maintaining stakeholder alignment.
  • Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Law, or related discipline – MBA or equivalent postgrad credentials advantageous.
  • High level of initiative and commercial ownership.
  • 8+ years of experience in energy contract origination, corporate PPA negotiation, or structured energy product sales.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain deep, senior-level relationships across the Australian energy landscape.
  • Well-established network in the Australian energy market with strong commercial relationships across the buyer landscape.
  • Deep understanding of electricity markets, renewable energy projects, and contract structures (e.g., PPA, sleeved, firmed, retail).
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of closing complex commercial energy transactions with large buyers or retailers.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.
