Tasks

This position will be supporting sites on the East End of the GTA -Track all rental equipment and labor. -Attend pre-construction meetings and all other project meetings with stakeholders. -Correction of any deficient work. -Communicate project status with all stakeholders as required. -Maintain communication and working relationship with owners, subcontractors, contract administrators, and other stakeholders including local residents. -Deliver the specified work within time, within budget, and to the desired level of quality and workmanship. -Participate in company and project safety programs and initiatives, and monitor/ensure compliance for safety requirements. -Track and capture all out of scope or additional work not covered under the base contract and communicate with Project Manager. -Ensure compliance of all safety and work regulation policies with all labor forces, including subcontractors in conjunction with KAPP Health & Safety department. -Maintain up to date record of progress on projects. -Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, trade contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to prepare and execute project plans in accordance with contract documents. -Coordination of construction crews, owned and rented equipment, material supply, inspections, and subcontractors. -Work with the rest of the Project Team with initial set up of the construction project including analyzing specifications, drawings, and construction schedule prior to mobilization to project site. -Participates in KAPP continuous improvement projects. -Communicate contract requirements to Foreman.

What You Bring

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Civil Site Superintendent. This is an opportunity to join a company with over 40 years of construction experience. As a key member of the KAPP Infrastructure team, you will be committed to ensuring that you monitor every step of the construction process on a job including the planning stage right up to completion. Reporting to the Operations Manager and VP, Construction. Travel throughout the East GTA will be required. -Knowledge of Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel and Outlook. -Extensive experience in the construction industry, including experience in supervisory, management or leadership roles is required. -Industry and project required safety training. -Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders. -Travel and performing site visits is essential in this job. -Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or post-secondary education in a construction related field. -Experience in heavy civil work with particular experience in sewer/watermain, earthworks, roadworks and bridges. -Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements -Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. -5-10 experience working as a Civil Construction Superintendent -Municipal, Subdivision and ICI experience is a must. -Ability to successfully supervise a construction project.
